Malware bytes not installing
I tried to install after a hard reset with no effect on the installation. It still gives me the error. I am taking Liquid Tension's advice and downloading the offline installer.
I use Norton and invoke the VPN often, though not always. I hope this clears up the question about the proxy. On that note, I am not experiencing any network issues, though some sites will not let me access their content with the VPN on, even if I whitelist them. Perhaps this could be an issue, but I have turned off the VPN and am still experiencing the same message. However, it gets me to thinking that since I have exceeded my "unlimited" data threshold and am now throttled, the install is timing out.
Any thoughts? The offline installer did install and ver 4 is now up and running. The download failed two times before it finally completed. The offline install allowed for the work around. Double-click mb-support- 1. Click Yes to consent.

However, I did follow all the steps you asked me to do, but when I tried to install the MB downloaded from the link you gave me, the runtime error kept on appearing. Well, the reboot screen stayed on for more than 40 minutes; I thought that my pc was stalled and shutted it off. The same thing happened after running the adwcleaner: the blue screen with the "rebooting" sign ran for more than 50 min before I stopped it by pressing the shut down button.

A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully. A log pops up at the end of the run. Please post this in your next reply. Hello Kevin, I did what you suggested me to do with no good results. The only thing that changed when I tried to install MB was that the runtime error this time was and changed from the I was getting before.

Inside the folder expand each sub folder until you have windows folder open with list of entries of renamed Malwarebytes executable files Double click on each in turn until one will work If successful follow the prompts to install and update.

However, I'm concerned with additional two issues: among the possible culprits of the problems my Pc experienced are Advanced SystemCare, which is a sw that I trust and has been very useful to keep my pc clean of useless files and a clean registry, additional to many other helpful tools.

I've just looked into my task manager and no Kaspersky processes are available, before i did have both and they ran well, but atm nothing except for Windows Defender.
Run the Kaspersky removal tool and restart. There's no Kaspersky files on my PC. So far I have downloaded and tried the offline installer with the same results. Shutting down the computer instead of restarting got rid of the two without warning restarts, but also failed to complete the installation, lol. Well the automated response wins this time, running the support tool did the trick, and all of the protections are on again.
